I adjusted the seat so that my foot laid just so on the bellows, took a deep breath, and began one of my own pieces. It began slowly and quietly weaving itself through the rustling of the trees the way I was sure the fog was doing even now. It was the composition I had finished just last night for this very woman in front of me, though she had no knowledge of my regard. She would know me after this night, however.

The softness of beginning drew together into a strength, a quiet resolve. It was a melody made to grip the hearts of young noblewomen such as herself, and indeed a glance confirmed that her breath was momentarily still. Yes. She would remember my name. So would the rest of them.

Sasha was so caught up in her story that she missed her stop.
