Stars. Billions and billions of them. More than you could count, certainly, but more than He could count either. And that was "He" with a big H. He looked out over the vaste expanse of His creation, and He decided that things had gotten a bit cluttered. What did He need all of this stuff for, anyway? Some of it was nostalgic, to be sure, but He was omniscient for Christ's sake (oops, he thought, shouldn't take the kid's name in vain). The point was, He hardly needed mementos, when He was incapable of forgetting anything anyway.
Besides, not all the memories were so hot. Eternity was sprinkled with disappointments, and even a few regrets. He rarely allowed himself regrets, what with the omniscience and the omnipotence, but there were a few things that hadn't turned out quite the way He had wanted. A little mishap involving a former gardener named Adam came to mind.
| Everything was so much simpler back then, so much more manageable. | In fact the whole thing turned from one disaster to another and He had finally abandoned the whole project... |
