Who makes the rules? Do they really just exist a priori done deal there you go? I think someone writes them. Usually the wrong person. It is unfortunately true that usually the people who are most interested in making rules are the least qualified to do so.

Of course rules can be fun. I myself am particularly fond of the rule of gravity and have found myself wondering what it would be like if the average human body was actually a density which settled somewhere in the middle of the atmosphere. Would cliques form around density ratings? "Sorry man, you're too dense for me!"... "What an airhead." We would long for the freedom of movement afforded by higher density and earth-bound mobility and stability.

Doubtless someone would come up with an elaborate set of rules about associating with people of other densities. An ancient theory, circa 20th century Earth, opined that the "rule" of gravity could be circumvented... When I was younger my mother told me about her friend Ruth.
