An ancient theory, circa 20th century Earth, opined that the "rule" of gravity could be circumvented once earthbounds learned to alter their density. Many grotesque experiments along this line of "reasoning" gained them nothing, although of course the illuminated texts of the time are quite fascinating (if you are strong of stomach). Of course their principal problem was that they conceived of density in such a narrow, physical way. Although there were prophets of that age who spoke the truththat altering density could only be achieved with, by, and through the mindthose bound to the physical world refused to see the light.
| Those early levitators never got any higher than two feet off the ground... | Actually some of the early texts on this were surprisingly close to the truth. |
