Infuriated, Harlan sat down at his computer a few hours later to bang out his answer to Murray.

In which Bambi, all grown up, falls in love with a beautiful doe named Bimbo, who bears his child and then abandons it, leaving Bambi to raise his son, Bambi, Jr., alone. After a series of humorous and always touching mishaps as a new dad with his awkward son, Bambi Sr. experiences the greatest trauma of his life as he is forced to watch his son strangled before his eyes by a psychopathic hunter who first shoots Jr.and then, as the little deer is dying, strangles him to death with rope wrapped around his neck many times--the Bambi Loops of course.

"Let Murray stick this in his sponsor-purchased pipe and smoke it!" Harlan growls.

"Oh, tiger," says Greg, reading over Harlan's shoulder. "Now that you've gotten this out of your system, write the man something he can sell. We've got Christmas presents to buy."

That night Harlan dreamed a dream of the primal forest. The bracken thrashed as predator pursued prey. Suddenly they broke into a clearing, and the big-eyed fawn sprang and sank its fangs into the Panther's spine just behind the head.

Harlan woke in a sweat. He knew now what he had to do. He might hate himself for it, but he and Greg would be rich beyond their wildest dreams.

PowerDeer(tm) The Movie set box office records Thanksgiving weekend. By Christmas every child demanded Bambo, Forestarr, and DeathDoe action figures. There was some criticism of Panther Pete, the villain with the effeminate British accent, but it really only helped spur sales.
